WHAT'S INCLUDED
Hermanus is the world's premier land-based whale watching destination. From June to November, Southern Right whales calve in Walker Bay, literally metres from the cliff-top walking path. The drive from CPT airport runs along Gordon's Bay and the Clarence Drive coastal road, one of South Africa's most photographed stretches of N2 + R43. We'll stop at the Rooi Els viewpoint on request. Whale season books out months ahead, so confirm your Hermanus plans the same day you confirm your flight.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What if my flight is delayed?
We track your flight via its number. Up to 60 minutes of waiting after actual landing is included at no charge. Beyond that, a wait fee applies at 200 ZAR per half hour — we'll always ask before charging. If your flight is diverted or cancelled, call the Russian office and we reschedule at no cost.
When is whale season in Hermanus?
June through November, peak in September-October. The town has a 'whale crier' who sounds a kelp horn when whales are spotted — literally. If you arrive in whale season, ask the driver to stop at the Old Harbour first.
Is it cheaper to do this trip over two days?
Sometimes, yes. Long-distance routes (Hermanus, Garden Route) can be cheaper per-day as multi-day trips because you pay once for the driver accommodation and save on the return leg if you're staying put. Ask at booking.
How does payment work?
30% prepayment is required to confirm a booking (bank transfer or card). The 70% balance is due on the day of your trip, in cash (ZAR, USD, EUR), by bank transfer, or by card.
Can we stop for coffee/bathrooms?
Of course. Most long-distance runs include one bathroom/coffee stop built in. Additional stops are no extra charge as long as they don't add more than 30 minutes to the total trip.
