WHAT'S INCLUDED

Franschhoek is the gastronomic capital of the Cape Winelands. Founded by French Huguenots in 1688, the valley still speaks French-accented heritage: Le Quartier Français, La Motte, Boschendal. The drive from CPT airport climbs over the Hélshoogte Pass with views of the Franschhoek valley unfolding below. Plan an hour for the ride (longer in peak traffic or if you stop for photos at the pass viewpoint, which most guests do). Our office books your trip in Russian, the driver meets you in English, and you're at your restaurant or estate in time for a long lunch.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Over the Hélshoogte Pass, 60 min scenic drive
  • French Huguenot heritage, Michelin-starred restaurants
  • Direct drop-off at estate, hotel, or restaurant

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What if my flight is delayed?
We track your flight via its number. Up to 60 minutes of waiting after actual landing is included at no charge. Beyond that, a wait fee applies at 200 ZAR per half hour — we'll always ask before charging. If your flight is diverted or cancelled, call the Russian office and we reschedule at no cost.
How much luggage can I bring?
Toyota Quantum fits 13 passengers with 13 standard cases in the rear compartment. Hyundai Elite Staria carries 8 passengers with 8 cases. Toyota Coaster takes up to 22 passengers with 20 cases. For larger groups or extended trips with extra gear, ask about a luggage trailer at booking.
Can we stop at a vineyard on the way?
Yes, and most guests do. A 1-hour vineyard stop (Stellenbosch or Franschhoek) is 300 ZAR extra and works well if you've just landed and want a soft landing into the wine region before reaching your estate.
How does payment work?
30% prepayment is required to confirm a booking (bank transfer or card). The 70% balance is due on the day of your trip, in cash (ZAR, USD, EUR), by bank transfer, or by card.
What's peak season?
November through February (South African summer and New Year holidays). Peak surcharge is +15% to +25% depending on the route, and booking 3-4 weeks ahead is recommended. May to August is low season with better availability.
Is the Hélshoogte Pass safe in bad weather?
Yes. The Hélshoogte Pass is a fully paved R-road (R310) maintained year-round. Heavy winter rain or rare snow can slow traffic, never close the pass. Our drivers know when to take the lower N2 alternative.
